Energy & Environment Nanomaterial Laboratory
The main issues for commercialization of PSCs are efficiency and stability. And those are mainly related to perovskite crystal and hetero-interface with various defect. For efficient & stable perovskite solar cells, we are approaching to increase quality of perovskite film, and studying interface & defect engineering.

The other issue is scalable fabrication of PSCs. Although, PSCs in small size have achieved highest efficiency among the thin-film solar cells, but large-area perovskite solar modules (PSMs) need further various studies. For the high quality modules, uniform and sophisticated process are required in large-area. We are focusing to increase uniformity of each functional layer, and reproducibility of PSMs.

Uniformity & Reproducibility
One of most advantages for PSCs is flexibility due to thin films about 1 um. There are further issues for fabrication of flexible PSCs due to the different intrinsic properties between flexible and rigid substrates. We are also studying flexible PSCs & PSMs from substrate to devices for high efficiency & stability.

Recently, there is an exponential need for IoT devices such as sensor nodes, wearable smart electronics and wireless sensors. Due to these issues, research on energy harvesting and indoor light recycling are emerged. We are also focusing to applicate PSCs as autonomous power sources for IoT sensors.
